Fucoidan (Mozuku, Mekabu & Fucus) may help prevent male human papillomavirus (HPV) by Dr. Susana Trujillo

— Dr. Susana Trujillo

NEW YORK, NY, UNITED STATES, November 30, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — Male human papillomavirus (HPV) infection significantly contributes to infection and subsequent cervical disease in women.1,9 Several studies of women with cervical cancer and their husbands have shown that men's sexual behavior affects women's risk of cervical neoplasia (neoplasia is a type of abnormal and excessive growth of tissue), even when controlling for female sexual activity. In areas with a high incidence of cervical cancer, men's sexual behavior is a risk factor for cervical neoplasia.2,3,10 More recently, studies have shown that HPV contributes to men's burden of diseases such prostate and oropharyngeal cancers and genital warts. Therefore, it is important to recognize the growing interest in understanding HPV infection in men and to learn about new alternative and natural ways to prevent it. Fucoidan, a natural polysaccharide obtained from brown seaweeds (Mozuku, Mekabu and Fucus), has demonstrated to have anti-HPV activities and can be used as an alternative for the prevention of HPV.

Fucoidan, particularly obtained from Mozuku, Mekabu and Fucus, is one of the most commonly used natural products with anti-HPV activities that can emerge as potential treatments for different types of cancer because it contains polysaccharides, phytochemicals and isolated active compounds.

As in the cervix, HPV can be found frequently in samples obtained from the anus and male genitals. Approximately 20% of men have HPV DNA detected in the anogenital (including coronal, shaft, scrotum and anal) area. This wide range is due in part to the difficulty in obtaining adequate samples from the genitals of men. 3,4,5 In men who have sex with men, the prevalence of anal HPV is much higher. The highest prevalence can be found in HIV-infected homosexual men with a prevalence of over 90% in the anus. Anal HPV infections are also common in adolescent and adult women with rates ranging from 13% to 50%. As in men, the highest prevalence of anal HPV in women is found in those who are HIV-infected.6,7

The most common risk associated with detection of HPV in the anogenital area in heterosexual men is the number of lifetime sexual partners. However, unlike women, older men are as likely as younger men to be HPV-infected. This is true whether the men are heterosexual or homosexual. The reasons for this difference may be that men do not develop adequate immune responses to maintain protection. Studies have shown that at all ages the antibody levels are lower for men than for women. Alternatively, men may be having more new sex partners than women.8,10

Fucoidan derived from brown seaweeds (Mozuku, Mekabu and Fucus) has shown to have a variety of bioactivities such as antitumor, antiviral, anticoagulant, antioxidant, immuno-inflammatory effects and other medicinal properties. The studies on the antiviral actions of Fucoidan are increasing interests in the research areas, particularly its anti-HPV properties. Fucoidan can either inhibit the replication of virus through interfering viral life cycle or improve the host antiviral immune responses to accelerate the process of viral clearance. The life cycle of viruses differs greatly between species but there are six basic stages in the life cycle of viruses: viral adsorption, viral penetration, uncoating of capsids, biosynthesis, viral assembly and viral release. Fucoidan can inhibit viral life cycle at different stages or directly inactivate virions before virus infection. Specific antiviral mechanism of Fucoidan is commonly related to specific structure features of the polysaccharide.

As the immune system is the first line of defense against HPV, boosting it can help fight off the virus naturally. Fucoidan has been shown to increase the likelihood of clearing HPV. The best Fucoidan is obtained from the brown seaweeds Mozuku, Mekabu and Fucus. It is suggested to take Fucoidan that includes beta-glucans to get the best results. In conclusion, Fucoidan, especially obtained from Mozuku, Mekabu and Fucus, has many advantages, such as broad spectrum of antiviral properties and low cytotoxicity, which suggest that Fucoidan is a promising antivirals extract that can be used alone or in combination with other ingredients like beta-glucans.

Fucoidan (Mozuku, Mekabu & Fucus) may help prevent human papillomavirus (HPV) in adolescents by Dr. Susana Trujillo

Human papillomavirus (HPV) infects about 14 million people, including teens, each year.

Fucoidan’s anti-HPV and anti-cancer properties have the potential to treat both unapparent HPV infection as well as visible clinical diseases. ”

— Dr. Susana Trujillo

NEW YORK, NEW YORK, UNITED STATES, November 30, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — Human papillomavirus (HPV) infects about 14 million people, including teens, each year. While most HPV infections go away on their own, infections that don’t go away can lead to certain types of cancer. Every year, 32,500 men and women develop a cancer caused by HPV. HPV vaccination could prevent more than 90% of these cancers from ever developing. 1 Still, it is important to note that there are natural alternatives that have been shown to prevent HPV. One of these innovative natural ingredients is known as Fucoidan and it is mainly obtained from the brown seaweeds Mozuku, Mekabu and Fucus.

Human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination can lead to substantial reductions in the incidence of HPV infection and HPV-related diseases, including anogenital cancers and genital warts. The introduction of the HPV vaccine in 2006 and the subsequent use of the vaccine in 2008 created opportunities to counter the existing HPV disease burden.2 Given the high rates of HPV infection that occur shortly after the initiation of sex and the vaccine's ability to prevent infection only prior to exposure, HPV vaccination has been particularly targeted to young adolescents. Routine vaccination with either the vaccine has been recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC's) Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices (ACIP) for adolescent females ages 11-12, with catch-up vaccination for young women 13-26 years of age. However, years after the vaccine was introduced, at least half of the target population of adolescent females had not initiated HPV vaccination.9

The CDC reported that many adolescents do not get vaccinated because of lack of HPV knowledge, perception of daughter's risk for HPV acquisition, belief in vaccination benefits, degree of concern about vaccine side effects, child's age, social influences, concern regarding post-vaccination sexual disinhibition, physician's recommendation, and parent's personal exposure to HPV infection.3,4 Considering the morbidity and mortality associated with HPV disease as well as the disproportionately high HPV disease burden in minority and uninsured women within the United States, it is crucial that we continue to provide new options available for adolescents to protect their body from HPV infections.6 Therefore, it is essential to find new alternatives that can provide adolescents a natural option, like Fucoidan, for them to prevent HPV and to enhance their immune system to fight the infection.8

Current research for natural products to be applied in medicine and to promote health has put some emphasis in research on brown seaweeds like Fucoidan. Extensive literature on the health benefits of Fucoidan and its uses has been published since the last decade. However, comparatively, there are only a handful of research papers on Fucoidan and its anti-HPV function. Still, all these studies related to Fucoidan and its anti-HPV properties is very promising.
Fucoidan from brown seaweeds possess good antiviral and anti-tumor activities and some of them have been developed into novel antiviral agents. Fucoidan is a term used to define polysaccharides containing l-fucose found in brown seaweed (Mozuku, Mekabu and Fucus) and the structures of Fucoidan may vary among species and sometimes among different parts of the seaweed. In studies, Fucoidan showed significant anti-cancer and anti-HPV properties.

HPV vaccination provides a strong potential to improve public health by decreasing HPV–related anogenital cancers and genital warts. Despite the increase in vaccination rates, half of the target population continues to remain unvaccinated and completion rates lag in those populations that are at highest risk for HPV disease morbidity. However, improved understanding of the reasons chosen for non-vaccination, including vaccine safety and provider non-recommendation may delay the effort for increase in vaccination rates. Recognizing that timing of HPV vaccination is important and it is recommended prior to sexual exposure, continued alternatives are highly needed to help adolescents prevent additional diseases like cancer.7 It is important to educate adolescents about the importance of having a strong immune system. According to the CDC, the body's immune system clears HPV from 90 percent of individuals who have it within two years. Keeping your immune system healthy can aid the body in getting rid of HPV and Fucoidan is one of the best options to enhance it.9

In summary, Fucoidan’s anti-HPV and anti-cancer properties have the potential to treat both unapparent HPV infection as well as visible clinical diseases. Besides that, Fucoidan has many advantages, such as low toxicity, convenience to ingest and bioavailability, which suggests that Fucoidan may reduce or regulate HPV infection and related cancers.

But as the latter reassures their employees by stressing the features that make their version unique. There are times when few customers drop off. User count decreases simultaneously. Then their crack squad of talented developers launches three new features and that makes the company desperate more than before.

This is the swivel point. This is when enterprises bring about a change in their business in a fundamental way. ADA has listed our top companies on its website in all major categories that have been performing in all major industry verticals.

Deep Farms to Revolutionise World’s Food Production

Example of a Deep Farm City

Automated Deep Farm concept

View from above of a Deep Farm

Academics at the University of Nottingham, UK, have patented a new concept that would see food production in deep farms in cities.

It is estimated that a small Deep Farm can produce 80 tonnes of food per annum.”

— Prof Saffa Riffat

NOTTINGHAM, ENGLAND, UK, November 29, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — Academics at the University of Nottingham have patented a new concept that would see food production in deep farms in cities. The revolutionary ideas are being promoted by University of Nottingham academics Professor Saffa Riffat, Fellow of the European Academy of Sciences and President of the World Society of Sustainable Technologies, and Professor Yijun Yuan, Marie Curie Research Fellow.

Most of the food we eat is transported by train, sea and air contributing to large CO2 emissions. For each one calorie of food we eat 10 calories of crude oil are used. Projections show that feeding a world population of about 9 billion people in 2050 would require overall food production to be increased by some 70 percent between now and 2050.
Land area for traditional farming is limited and increased food supply will require more intensive methods of crop production. Deep farming technology would allow crop production all year-round. Up to 10 crop cycles per year could be achieved compared to 1-2 cycles for conventional agriculture. Put another way, 1 indoor acre is equivalent to 4-6 outdoor acres or more, depending on the crop.

Deep Farms would eliminate the use of mechanical ploughs and other farming machinery, thus reducing the burning of fossil fuels that cause climate change. Furthermore, as Deep Farms could be located close to urban centres, CO2 emission due to transportation of crops would be reduced. This is particularly important as the proportion of people living in cities continues to rise. Over the last 20 years, the percentage of people who live in cities globally has increased from 20% to nearly 50%.

Cost-effective deep shafts for crop planting would be constructed using new drilling techniques. Existing coal mine shafts, mines and tunnels, many of which are now abandoned could also be used for crop production.
A variety of crops could be grown in the Deep Farms using hydroponic planters (plant roots fed with nutrient-rich water) or aeroponics (growing plants in an air or mist environment). LED units would enable photosynthesis in the absence of sunlight. Groundwater could be used directly or water could be condensed from ambient air in hot/humid desert climates. A major benefit of this approach is that crop production is largely unaffected by climatic or seasonal factors – one of the greatest limitations of conventional farming methods.

Many crops are now being grown in greenhouses and while this provides a controllable growth environment, greenhouses are heavy energy consumers. Vertical farms are a relatively recent adaptation of the traditional greenhouse and are suitable for use in cities, as their tall glass structures provide high crop yields on a small land area.

However, vertical farming systems are expensive to manufacture and install, and require a large amount of water and energy for heating and cooling. They are also vulnerable to extreme weather conditions, wars and terrorism.
New vertical shafts could be created for Deep Farms and also redundant coal mine shafts could be used for crop production. In the UK, for example, there are over 150,000 redundant coal mine shafts.

Carbon dioxide is required for plant photosynthesis and Deep Farms are well suited for carbon capture from ambient air. The CO2 could be released to achieve the concentration levels required by plants.
Use of carbon capture systems has the added benefit of reducing CO2 concentration in the environment, as additional carbon is adsorbed in materials in the ground space. Advanced control systems including sensors and remote controls could be used to monitor crop production. Automated systems such as robots could be used for crop planting and harvesting. Electricity generated from renewable sources and off-peak power could be used to power the LED lighting for plant photosynthesis.

Deep Farms are not strongly affected by the seasons or climates, and are resistant to natural disasters, extreme weather, pests and diseases, man-made accidents and industrial pollution. In fact, the ground environment is naturally suited to the growth of plants.
Plants can thrive in a closed environment with less oxygen and enriched levels of CO2 and water. So in terms of the rationality of the biological chain and the biological space, some crops are best located underground, leaving the ground surface for human and animal activities.

Deep Farms have many benefits including:
• Easily constructed using drilling machines and controlled explosion methods
• Effective use of abandoned mine shafts
• Carbon capture to reduce ambient CO2
• Reduced dependency on cultivated land, climate and surface water resources
• More efficient utilization of natural resources in crop production
• Improved security of crop production and reduced impact of natural and man-made factors
• Higher yields and greater cost efficiency
• Improved control over quality and food safety
• Removal of seasonal restrictions allowing production of crops all year round
• Can be used in areas with poor natural weather conditions, e.g., cold climates, and areas with low solar insolation
• Crops can be produced in desert areas, dry and water-deficient areas
• Impact of human conflict on crop production is reduced
• Crops can be grown close to highly populated areas

It is estimated that a small Deep Farm can produce 80 tonnes of food per annum. Some of the crops can be ready for harvesting within 2-3 weeks. The amount of energy it would require is equivalent to that consumed by 3 UK homes.
Crops suited to deep farming methods include:
• Lettuces and leafy greens, such as kale and spinach
• Herbs, e.g., basil, cutting celery, chives, mint and parsley
• Roots e.g., carrots and onions
• Vegetables e.g., peppers, eggplants and cucumbers
• Fruits e.g., strawberries and different types of mushrooms

Deep Farms could be installed at various locations to create a ‘Deep Farming City’. This would facilitate the supply of a wide range of fresh crops to the local population.

Fizzing, Cool, and Ahead of Deadline

Anytime, anywhere

Black Coating Fizzing Bottle

Simple, sleek, stylish as you want.

The Fizzing Bottle might be the hydration gadget you didn't even know you needed.

We aim to help people maintain their well-being, anytime, anywhere, simply by drinking more water, and to make drinking water more fun than ever.”

— Fizzing.Cool Team

WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES, November 29, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ — The Fizzing Bottle Exceeds Expectations.

The Fizzing.Cool company today announced that the Kickstarter campaign for their flagship Fizzing Bottle product and its cousin, the Flipping Bottle, had exceeded their funding goal by more than double.

As of press time, the bottle project is 279% funded by 1,051 backers and still has eighteen days to go. This is exciting news for the small team with big ideas, as they can provide even more products, services, and smiles to backers than initially planned. With over $83,000 in the bag, the company is looking forward to a future of providing fizzing satisfaction to consumers while coming up with creative new ideas along the way.

For those not in the know, the Fizzing Bottle is a revolutionary new system which allows people on the go to carbonate drinks in a way similar to a home carbonation system. Its unique design offers two openable ends; one for fizzing, one for drinking, and both for easy cleaning at the end of the day. The bottle is also compatible with nitro cartridges for a smoother, creamier beverage.

What truly stands out about the Fizzing Bottle, when compared to other devices in the at-home carbonation, is that it’s not just at home, it’s on the go. It can be taken wherever the user likes as it fits into a bag or a hand for an active lifestyle. Beyond that, it’s the first system to use a fixed-dose system, meaning that you know exactly how much carbonation you’re getting with every twist of the knob connected to the cartridge. No guessing on the road. Twist clockwise for a fixed injection of fizz, and counter-clockwise to determine your own level. The choice is up to the user.

Peppermint Black Bean Brownies

Brownies are the Kryptonite of a baker with a sweet tooth. However, with these Peppermint Black Bean Brownies, they do not have to be. These brownies are full of protein, with a rich flavor that will have your guests begging you for the recipe. Plus, if peppermint is not the flavor you desire, there are plenty of other Essential Oil options. Doreen Sotelo-Celedon suggests substituting peppermint with Wild Orange, Lavender, or Cinnamon.

Cinnamon Apple Chips

Speaking of cinnamon, who can resist freshly baked Cinnamon Apple Chips, especially this time of the year? Fall is apple season, so if you are anything like Doreen, autumn brings in a whole bushel of fresh apples. Cooking up some cinnamon apple chips creates a dynamic snack that can be enjoyed by itself or accompanied. This is a healthy, anytime snack that will recharge your batteries and spice up a plethora of pairings.

Pumpkin Pie

The list of fall favorites wouldn’t be complete without Pumpkin Pie. Doreen’s mini pie recipe is exactly what the season ordered. A mix of Cinnamon, Ginger, and Clove divine a delicious, personal desert that is sure to be a party favorite. However, if you wish to go the more traditional route, Doreen also shares a recipe for a full-pie too. Who can resist cute little finger food, pumpkin pies, though?

Gingerbread Cookies

The holidays would not be complete in many families without the famous Gingerbread Cookies. The spice of this cookie is what makes it famous. By using Essential Oils, you are sure to get a powerful flavor every time. Plus, these cookies are vegan, so everyone at the party can indulge without worry. Surprise yourself and your guests by the layered, rich, traditional taste, without using any ingredients that exclude dietary restrictions. This cookie is sure to be the sweetest treat at the party or family gathering.
